Day 55: Bricking Day 3 & Final Ceiling Texture

The weather finally allowed the masons to come out and get some work done.  As we were leaving this evening...I surveyed the horizon and thought, "Something Wicked This Way Comes!"  Thunderstorms and Rain in the forecast for the next few days.  They probably have another day and half left but can't do anything with this weather.  They had finished up to the top of the palladium window in front and just need to do the gable above the foyer.  They have nearly all of the back of the house to complete still.

The drywall crew was in and finished the texture on the ceiling.  They still have to sand and block the final coat of plaster.  I added a few photos on the bottom of this but they look just like the ones from yesterday.  Didn't want to bore anyone.

Also the siding crew that is going to put up our siding is just waiting for the brick to be finished to start.  They could start another house if their brick is done first.

Today was Production Meeting day and apparently my PM's phone is broke.  Actually I think he just blocked my number.  Anyway, I don't have a look ahead but the drywall crew has a half a day of work tomorrow and then we will be waiting on the next trade.  I'm not sure when the PM is going to have the painters come in.  Hoping for Thursday, Friday.  Once that is done, we can get our hard woods and trim coming in. :)

Here you can see the soldier course they put in to create a transition between
the siding.  On the sides they did a cantilevered edge to transition but not
on the back.

Entire second floor has texture on the ceiling including Foyer and Family room

    1. Us too. Flooring should be going in starting this weekend. We had to switch flooring last minute but it worked out. See my next post for the mini-crisis.

  3. It is looking like a house. How many homes are going to be near yours? It looks like you have tons of land around you.

    1. There are at least 10 lots in the center of the horseshoe but they are not selling as fast as the development up street where the sales office is. The starting prices is nearly $100,000 less. Smaller market for our development...or people don't realize that the starting price is NO WHERE NEAR where you end up. Once I priced out the first house, I quickly saw that and switched modes into VALUE mode. "If I am going to spend that much, then I could just buy this..." thus the Highgrove.
